God loves each single adult, seeing them as precious, worthy, and complete in Christ. He always has their best interests in mind and holds their earthly and heavenly security within his hands. All single adults, including those never married, divorced, and widowed, will reap satisfaction in life when they unleash their dunamis as God intends, such as when they trust in God, the Lord becomes their everlasting strength (Isaiah 26:4). The blessed assurance of eternally good life is theirs to embrace. God is faithful and true (Revelation 19:11). Nowhere in life is there anything that reaches higher and achieves more than the love and wisdom of Christ. As church leaders reach their potential for God, they can transfer their knowledge and experience to singles so that they can attain the life they were made to live. It will be a privilege and an honor to provide what singles need for unleashing their dunamis. May God bless the church and all wise singles.

Book excerpt: UNITY: The Righteousness Of Power is a title I got from a movie I saw about superheroes coming together in a collaborative effort to save the world from the catastrophic threat of civil disorder. As I was watching this movie, the Holy Spirit began to move on me with a vision to write a book for believers to combat evil forces in this world through the dunamis (power of God). As we come together to use our diverse gifts, we are able to tap into the dunamis and do great things as we stay plugged into the main circuit of power that flows from God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For this reason, He sent his word; and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Psalm107: 20 A person can never determine if something or someone is destructive unless there is something to compare it to. Destruction means to injure, harm, or wound. I did not understand how rapidly I was destroying my life and became a threat to my very own soul. Virtually living on the edge as if there was nothing in my future to look forward to. Without the proper guidance and affirmative action, I had become reckless and slowly but surely degrading the core of positive values that existed in my upbringing. Not noticing that the trials of life can at times change a rational person to one that is capable of destroying everything and everyone in their reach. Destructive behaviors can be derived from negative experiences and oftentimes prey on the fears of life causing a sense of insecurity. This insecurity caused me to seek attention in all the wrong places and in all the wrong people. When we lack guidance and self-control our flesh has the potential to creatively destroy that, which is dear to us such as our family, friends and relationships and most importantly, jeopardizing our spiritual walk.

Download or read book Political Dissent in Democratic Athens written by Josiah Ober and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2011-11-28 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How and why did the Western tradition of political theorizing arise in Athens during the late fifth and fourth centuries B.C.? By interweaving intellectual history with political philosophy and literary analysis, Josiah Ober argues that the tradition originated in a high-stakes debate about democracy. Since elite Greek intellectuals tended to assume that ordinary men were incapable of ruling themselves, the longevity and resilience of Athenian popular rule presented a problem: how to explain the apparent success of a regime "irrationally" based on the inherent wisdom and practical efficacy of decisions made by non-elite citizens? The problem became acute after two oligarchic coups d' tat in the late fifth century B.C. The generosity and statesmanship that democrats showed after regaining political power contrasted starkly with the oligarchs' violence and corruption. Since it was no longer self-evident that "better men" meant "better government," critics of democracy sought new arguments to explain the relationship among politics, ethics, and morality. Ober offers fresh readings of the political works of Thucydides, Plato, and Aristotle, among others, by placing them in the context of a competitive community of dissident writers. These thinkers struggled against both democratic ideology and intellectual rivals to articulate the best and most influential criticism of popular rule. The competitive Athenian environment stimulated a century of brilliant literary and conceptual innovation. Through Ober's re-creation of an ancient intellectual milieu, early Western political thought emerges not just as a "footnote to Plato," but as a dissident commentary on the first Western democracy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's Time for a Revolution takes an in-depth look at modern-day thinking and worldly teaching that is keeping the general population sick, oppressed, and without hope. The pressure and constant buzz of mainstream media has led to the rejection of most things Godly or biblical. Never has the path to truth been so twisted and camouflaged. This book will address common areas of deception that have led to the dysfunction and disease we see in the world today. Biblical principles that will be addressed: why God/Heaven is such a mystery, how to find radical freedom from plaguing mental and emotional issues, and discovering the truth about diet, money and physical healing. Through twenty years of research and client interactions, Dr. Jessica Rothmeyer has discovered the keys to healing and freedom, and it all begins by having a Kingdom mind-set. Taking biblical truths from God's Word and teaching them to her clients, helped to rewire their minds and hearts to align with God's; which led to incredible and miraculous healings. It is through writing this book that these revelations would spread to the masses, bringing supernatural freedom to people across the world, those who are living in fear, confusion, and poor health due to embracing the false teachings and empty promises made by academics, politicians, health care providers, and science. Let us return to having a Godly thought-life. Choosing to love others as Jesus loves us. And to be ever-vigilant to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, as the new mind-set, will change people's lives like never before. The human race has been duped and suffering for long enough! It's time for a revolution.

Download or read book Energy and Change written by Clayton Crockett and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2022-09-27 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As humanity continues to consume planetary resources at an unsustainable rate, we require not only new and renewable forms of energy but also new ways of understanding energy itself. Clayton Crockett offers an innovative philosophy of energy that cuts across a number of leading-edge disciplines. Drawing from contemporary philosophies of New Materialism, non-Western traditions, and the sciences, he develops a comprehensive vision of energy as a material process spanning physics, biology, politics, ecology, and religion. Crockett argues that change is foundational to material reality, which is ceaselessly self-organizing. We can observe energy’s effects in the operations of natural selection as well as those at work in human societies. Matter and energy are not an oppositional binary; rather, they are expressions of how change functions in the universe. Ultimately, Crockett argues, we can conceive of God neither as a deity nor as a being but as the principle of change. Informed by cutting-edge theoretical discourses in thermodynamics, science studies, energy humanities, systems theory, continental philosophy, and radical theology, Energy and Change draws on theorists such as Gilles Deleuze, Catherine Malabou, Slavoj Žižek, Karen Barad, Bruno Latour, and Kojin Karatani as well as ideas about spirituality, society, and nature from Amerindian, Vodou, and Neo-Confucian traditions. A foundational work in New Materialist philosophy of religion, this book offers compelling new insights into the structure of the cosmos and our place in it.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Athenian Identity and Civic Ideology, Alan Boegehold and Adele Scafuro bring together a distinguished group of scholars who explore the nature and meaning of Athenian citizenship. Departing from the narrow perspective of constitutional historians and also embracing sociological concerns, the editors' range of topics attests to a broad vision of the concepts of citizenship and civic ideology in a society in which the boundary between public and private, sacred and secular, is not always clear. Among the contributors, Philip Brook Manville and W. Robert Connor offer fresh critiques of the study of citizenship, while Frank J. Frost examines pre-Cleisthenic notions of citizenship. Alan Boegehold looks at social and economic motivations for the passage of Perikles's citizenship law of 451/0 B.C. Focusing on the fifth and fourth centuries, Ian Morris discusses changes in the visual manifestation of civic ideology in funeral monuments, while Josiah Ober offers an interpretation of Thucydides's history as a discourse that actively resists hegemonic public discourse. Robert W. Wallace examines what might be perceived as contradictions within civic ideology, namely, alleged infringements of intellectual freedom. In the final essays, with their focus on the fourth and third centuries, Adele Scafuro discusses the process of citizen identification in Athenian society; Cynthia Patterson examines the position of women in the maintenance of civic ideology; and David Konstan considers the relationship between sexual attitudes and civic status.
