Book excerpt: The end of this world as we know it is near. The book of Revelation is the most prominent book in the Bible when it comes to revealing the events of the end times. Revelation has been misunderstood by ministers and laymen alike since its canonization in the Bible. It has been interpreted in so many ways that it is confusing to the average Bible student, therefore, many today make very little or no attempt to understand its truths. This book, however, uses a different method of interpreting the Revelation. It uses the 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament in the Bible to interpret the book of Revelation -- Scripture interpreting Scripture. You see, God has hidden the symbols and mysteries of Revelation within the Bible itself. When we make this amazing discovery we will have more...Understanding Revelation, the title of this book. Jack Hilliard received his BS and MBA from California Coast University. He has been a student of the Bible since his salvation experience in 1978. He has taught a class in Revelation, a walk through the Old and New Testament of the Bible, Teaching teachers, etc. He has served the Lord in many ways since 1978 including service as a Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Personnel Committee, Member of the Finance Committee, Deacon, and Chairman of the Deacons, etc. He retired in 2005 after serving 35 years in the utility industry where he received many awards and commendations from superiors and peers. Jack heard the calling from the Holy Spirit approximately 7 years ago to write a book on Revelation. This book is an answer to that call. Within the Bible are passages from the Old and New Testament that reveals the mysteries and symbols of the book of Revelation. There are many of those passages defined in this book.
Summary Book Review Understanding the Book of Revelation: The Mystery of the Book of Revelation is Finally Revealed by Ph. D. Donald E. Mbosowo:
Download or read book Understanding the Book of Revelation: The Mystery of the Book of Revelation is Finally Revealed written by Ph. D. Donald E. Mbosowo and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2010-09 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about the truth revealed from the mystery hidden in the Book of Revelation. The Book of Revelation is about the missing information revealed to John because there was no record in the Bible about what happened to the perfect creation in Genesis 1:1. There was no record about Adam, created by the I AM, as the first God and his generations before this present world. The Bible has not recorded the lineage of Jesus from the I AM in order to present to the world who is Jesus. This is the truth that must be known. The Book of Revelation had been misunderstood because of the political interpretation of its images. In John 8:32, Jesus says, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" Here, the truth, refers to Jesus who has power to set humanity free from the bondage of the God of this world. Jesus declares in John 14: 6, that He is the "Truth". After the gospel had been preached for thousands of years, humanity is still in captivity of the God of this world. Many people keep asking why a good God can allow these types of suffering. This shows that Jesus the "Truth" is not yet known. Confessing Jesus as a Savior is different from knowing Him. This has been done for thousands of years and the world is getting worst. When Jesus, the "Truth" is known, He will set humanity free from this spiritual enslavement. The revealed truth from the mystery in the Book of Revelation, presented here, is a divine journey toward knowing Jesus, the "Truth". I encourage everyone to read this book.

Summary Book Review Understanding Scripture by Robert P. Vande Kappelle:
Download or read book Understanding Scripture written by Robert P. Vande Kappelle and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2020-12-16 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible is the single most important book in the history of Western civilization; it is also the most widely misunderstood. To understand the Bible, we must consider its historical and literary context. Utilizing the contributions of three disciplines—biblical introduction, biblical theology, and biblical interpretation, Understanding Scripture sets the record straight. Intended as a handbook or study guide, this work provides forty practical guidelines to make your reading of the Bible more useful and your understanding clearer. The goal of this book is not simply to persuade you to read the Bible more frequently, but to encourage you to read it with discernment. The forty concepts alluded to in the book’s subtitle are not factual in nature, meaning they are little concerned with biblical information. Rather, they comprise interpretive tools, “insider” techniques used by biblical scholars but widely unknown or ignored by average readers or believers. Parabolic in nature, the forty statements are designed to promote conversation rather than close or clinch an argument. This book is designed to keep you awake at night, romancing Scripture rather than mastering it, nourishing your spirituality rather than gorging or starving it. Understanding Scripture is useful for individual or group study. Each chapter concludes with questions suitable for discussion or reflection.

Download or read book Understanding the Other written by Jaco Beyers and published by AFRICAN SUN MeDIA. This book was released on 2017-08-31 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ÿ In a religious pluralistic society the other cannot be ignored, even less so when there is a familial relationship between religions. The way in which Judaism and Christianity relate can be conceptualised in many different forms, depending on the theory one subscribes to. Did Judaism and Christianity derive from a common ancestor? Did Christianity spring from Judaism and, if so, when? Why did the final cut between the two take place? Did Christianity replace Judaism? If so, how can the relationship between them now be described? Before interaction between the two religions is possible, an honest and unbiased attempt to understand each other must be mutual. This is a painful and difficult exercise as Christians and Jews seem to have been at odds since forever. This publication is not the final word on the relationship, but perhaps it serves as an invitation to Jews and Christians for peaceful engagement.

Download or read book An Orthodox Understanding of the Bible with Physical Science written by Geoffrey Ernest Stedman and published by Strategic Book Publishing. This book was released on 2010-06 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For centuries, the Christian world and the scientific world have supposedly been at odds. Those who strictly believe that God created the universe have had difficulty accepting such scientific concepts as the speed of light, the immense distances of astronomy, and the long ages of radioactivity and earth science. This book bridges the gap between scientific and Christian beliefs by asking the reader: What if both sides are parallel revelations by God? An Orthodox Understanding of the Bible With Physical Science is a mixture of Biblical exposition and explanation of modern physical science, including relativity and quantum theory. The book also includes a chapter of scientific parables for children. Author Geoffrey Ernest Stedman is a retired emeritus professor of physics at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. He believes he owes his life to modern science. Stedman is also an evangelical Christian, who takes the text of the Bible as definitive for faith. He wrote this book out of concern for the way creationism has debunked Christianity in the eyes of many. He hopes this text will remove unnecessary obstacles for the acceptance of the Christian faith and the results of scientific study. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Joseph Ratzinger’s / Pope Benedict XVI’s list of accomplishments is unparalleled in modern times—in both theological and academic terms. He held prestigious teaching positions in Europe’s finest universities. He played a pivotal role in the deliberations of Vatican II and the formulation of its teachings. His theological publications number above fifteen hundred. And he served the Catholic Church as its Pontiff for eight years. In O Lord, I Seek Your Countenance, Fr. Emery de Gaál contends that Ratzinger/ Benedict is reminiscent of a Church Father in his theological virtuosity. But beyond his brilliant intellect, Benedict’s deep Christ-centered spirituality is what gives life and verve to his academic pursuits. Through essays that explore Benedict’s rich and varied theological thought and achievements, from the 1950s through his Jesus of Nazareth trilogy, de Gaál apprehends Ratzinger as a theologian with philosophical sensitivity whose insights have shaped and will continue to shape the course of Catholic theology for years to come.

Download or read book Walking with the Full Assurance of Understanding written by Sterling Merritt Durgy and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-10-23 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Walking with the Full Assurance of Understanding has been written to provide Christians who are serious about their faith what Paul called: "the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding." In its pages readers will find the central truths, logic, and promise of Christianity necessary for a confident, stable, and fruitful walk with God. No one knew better than John Wesley that it is one thing to know Scripture, quite another to understand it. Even as a missionary to Georgia, well-schooled in the faith by a clergyman father, a devout mother, and his studies at Oxford, Wesley remained unaware of the full meaning of Scripture. It was understanding that unlocked the power of God's work in his life. Given the multitude of negative influences both from secular culture and within the Christian community, there has never been a greater need to avoid the false teachings of philosophy, popular but mistaken beliefs, and poor assumptions. The information and insights presented here will enable twenty-first-century Christians to avoid being "carried about by every wind of doctrine" by understanding the treasure they have in God, Jesus Christ, and the Scriptures.
