Summary Book Review The Pure Religion by Marshall Vian Summers:

Download or read book The Pure Religion written by Marshall Vian Summers and published by Society for the New Message. This book was released on 2020-01-01 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Pure Religion is a book of revelation given from God to reveal anew the deeper heart and meaning of the world’s religions and the Power and Presence of God, which seeks to speak to all people of all faith traditions in the world at this time. The Pure Religion is the timeless path of awakening, redemption and return to the Creator, initiated by God at the beginning of The Separation and then introduced into all worlds in the universe where intelligent life exists. The Pure Religion is God’s answer to the tragedy and suffering that living in a state of Separation from God has created in the history of religion in this world. It is the living communication from God to all life, calling all those still living in Separation to return to the unity of God and offering a pathway of return. God has spoken again, delivering a new Revelation to humanity. This Revelation is a direct reflection of the pure spirituality that lies at the heart of all the world’s religions. The New Message proclaims that no one can claim that their religion is the only true religion. Instead, there is the pure and mysterious call of God to each person in the world. This calling sounds to all people, whether they be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, a person of another faith or a person of no particular faith. This is an inner calling, calling to each person to go beyond the confines of belief and to enter a life of deeper experience, greater relationship and higher purpose in the world. A New Message from God has come into the world. It is an expression of the timeless pure connection with God as it has existed throughout human history and since the beginning of the manifest universe. Humanity now has direct access to this pure experience, unobstructed by human misunderstanding, authority and corruption. It has now entered the world anew. The Pure Religion is the eighth book of Volume 1 of The New Message from God.

Download or read book Kant's Moral Religion written by Allen W. Wood and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2009 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kant's philosophical thought about religious faith has frequently been treated as a weak point in his philosophy. Even Kant's more ardent admirers have often felt it necessary to to reject and to apologize for his "moral arguments" in favor of belief in God and immortality, to admit that these arguments are beneath the high standards of the critical philosophy, and even to claim that they are incompatible with the fundamental principles of Kant's philosophy itself. The present study was undertaken in the conviction that this common estimate of Kant's doctrine of moral faith is altogether wrong. I have attempted to show not only that Kant's doctrine of moral faith is consistent with his best critical thinking, but also that a full understanding of this doctrine is necessary for any genuine appreciation of the outlook of the critical philosophy as a whole.

This book was released on 2013-10-30 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Throughout his career, Kant engaged with many of the fundamental questions in philosophy of religion: arguments for the existence of God, the soul, the problem of evil, and the relationship between moral belief and practice. Religion within the Boundaries of Mere Reason is his major work on the subject. This book offers a complete and internally cohesive interpretation of Religion. In contrast to more reductive interpretations, as well as those that characterize Religion as internally inconsistent, Lawrence R. Pasternack defends the rich philosophical theology contained in each of Religion’s four parts, and shows how the doctrines of the "Pure Rational System of Religion" are eminently compatible with the essential principles of Transcendental Idealism. The book also presents and assesses: the philosophical background to Religion within the Boundaries of Mere Reason the ideas and arguments of the text the continuing importance of Kant’s work to philosophy of religion today.

Book excerpt: A broad discussion about how history and religion contribute to identity politics in contemporary Europe, this book provides case studies exemplifying how public intellectuals and academics have taken an active part in the construction of recent and traditional pasts. Instead of repeating the simplistic explanation as a return of religion, this volume focuses on public platforms and agents and their use of religion as a political and cultural argument. Filled with previously unpublished data gathered from texts, interviews, field observations, artifacts, and material culture, this record challenges stereotypical images of East and Southeast Europe.

This book was released on 2014-11-20 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Immanuel Kant's Religion within the Boundaries of Mere Reason is a seminal text in modern philosophy, ethics, and the philosophy of religion. It is a complex and challenging work, which students and scholars often find difficult to penetrate. This Reader's Guide provides a 'way in' to the text including: philosophical and historical context; an overview of key themes; section-by-section analysis of the text; a chapter on its reception and influence as a classic text of the Enlightenment; and a guide for further reading. It highlights the most important themes and ideas, clarifies certain opaque features, and examines the junctures in the text that are critical for any philosophical assessment of Kant's argument. Eddis N. Miller offers a sound understanding of Kant's Religion and the tools for students to philosophically assess Kant's overall argument.

This book was released on 2022-05-09 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How might practice theories and engagement with practice contribute to and advance theological study of religion and religious life and practices? This volume explores and discusses how theological engagement with practice, theoretically as well as empirically, might profit from theories of practice developed in disciplines such as philosophy, sociology, education and organisational studies during the recent decades, but so far scarcely employed within theology. In part I, the volume unfolds key components of practice theory, especially as they have more recently been developed within sociological practice theories, reflect on their significance and potential with regard to theology. In part II, these perspectives are employed in the study of concrete religious practices - established as well as experimental religious practices, and collective as well as individual ones. By unfolding connections between theology and practice theories, and reflecting on practice theories' analytical and theoretical potential for theological study of religion, the book will be of interest for any scholar in the study of contemporary religion and practical theology.
