Download or read book Peace on Earth, Millennium of King Jesus written by G. L. Cook and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2010 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Join father/son team G. L. and Glenn Cook in their exploration of the Bible to understand God's ultimate plan for everlasting peace, joy, and happiness on the earth. Peace on Earth: Millennium of King Jesus is the writers' authoritative compendium of eschatological texts, especially relating to the futuristic years when Jesus Christ will return to the earth at the Battle of Armageddon-and afterward, bring everlasting peace to all nations on the earth. It is good news! Biblical evidence and details are presented to demonstrate how King Jesus will literally establish his 1,000-year, theocratic, world-dominating government. As John G. Hall, one of the writers' favorite professors of biblical eschatology, once stated, 'If you don't believe King Jesus and his saints will be riding white horses when he returns to the earth, then you can just walk and I will ride.'
Summary Book Review King Jesus and the Beauty of Obedience-Based Discipleship by David Young:
Download or read book King Jesus and the Beauty of Obedience-Based Discipleship written by David Young and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2020-07-28 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does it mean to be a disciple? The call of discipleship is more than programs and Bible study. In King Jesus and the Beauty of Obedience-Based Discipleship, David Young presents a bold call for obedience-based discipleship and argues that it alone is the proper response to the kingship of Jesus. Many have wrongly associated obedience with bad theology, believing that Jesus' demand for obedience is a form of works righteousness or legalism. Others simply don't like obedience and resist the demands Jesus makes in calling us to follow him. But if we surrender to the kingship of Jesus, we will find the life we were designed to live. We are accustomed to calling Jesus "Savior." And we should. But until recently, many in the Western church have not learned to call Jesus "King." The kingship of Jesus has implications for how we live. We can either rebel against him, raising puppet kings and constructing our own kingdoms, or we can submit to him in obedience-based discipleship. Could it be that you are still sitting on the throne of your life, treating King Jesus as a mere advisor? What would change in your life if you started treating Jesus as nothing short of your King? Young unpacks five principles for those who wish to follow Jesus as King. Surrender to the authority of King Jesus Embrace the mission of King Jesus Live immersed in King Jesus Obey the teachings of King Jesus Behold the presence of King Jesus Following these five steps awakens us to a life truly worth living, a life of power, peace, beauty, and love. This is eternal life, that we would know and follow Jesus as King of the Universe, and king over our lives. After all, you don’t merely believe in kings. You obey them.
Summary Book Review Celebrate King Jesus by Dr. Bonnie L. Westhoff:
Download or read book Celebrate King Jesus written by Dr. Bonnie L. Westhoff and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2016-07-28 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many refer to the Book of Revelation as the book of the Tribulation. However, in reality, it is the time for the coronation of King Jesus. Many people ask why God keeps Satan on the earth, but are afraid to read the Book of Revelation which is an account of when Jesus does finally remove him from the earth. The Book of Revelation is the only book where God ensures a blessing to those who read it. Gods plan was always to know Him and dwell with Him. God has been long suffering as He has given every opportunity to every generation to come to Him and make their dwelling place with Him (Col 1:23). No one knows the day or the time when Christ will come for His Church (Mt 24:36), but that will be the time of the Book of Revelation. The Greek word for Revelation is apokalypsis and means an unveiling. The word is singular; only one person is revealed: Christ. Throughout the New Testament we saw Jesus as our Savior, but now He comes to rule the world. It is only now that Jesus receives His inheritance as the King of the Kingdom of God. The Church, the bride of Christ, will rule and reign with King Jesus throughout the Millennium. The bride will share in the inheritance of King Jesus. This book has an overview in the introduction, and before each chapter, to understand how everything fits chronologically in time sequence. The intent is that it is easy to read and the focus is to see the big picture before the details are explained. All Scripture in Revelation is included, as well as Scriptures within the Bible that prophesy each event that will occur.

Download or read book The King Jesus Gospel written by Scot McKnight and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2016-06-07 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contemporary evangelicals have built a "salvation culture" but not a "gospel culture." Evangelicals have reduced the gospel to the message of personal salvation. This book makes a plea for us to recover the old gospel as that which is still new and still fresh. The book stands on four arguments: that the gospel is defined by the apostles in 1 Corinthians 15 as the completion of the Story of Israel in the saving Story of Jesus; that the gospel is found in the Four Gospels; that the gospel was preached by Jesus; and that the sermons in the Book of Acts are the best example of gospeling in the New Testament. The King Jesus Gospel ends with practical suggestions about evangelism and about building a gospel culture.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a topical index for the New King James Version of the Bible. The reason author Terry R. Trammell created this index is that, even though he knew where many topics may be located, it would help many other people who were less knowledgeable. He decided to put something together that would help others in their studies by having a topical index, helping them to locate particular subjects and topics more easily like it has him. This will save more time than using concordances, as they help you look for words, not topics. This New King James Version Topical Index covers all sixty-six books of the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments. In this topical index, you will find that all the books will have a heading, a sub-heading, a list of the topics that are within that particular book, plus the page number of where that topic begins and ends. It has already helped Mr. Trammell a great deal. He is sure it will help you in your study of God’s Word, as well. Even if you are not studying as a student but are just looking for a certain topic, this topical index will be of great use.

Summary Book Review Moses, Jesus, and the Trickster in the Evangelical South by Paul Harvey:
Download or read book Moses, Jesus, and the Trickster in the Evangelical South written by Paul Harvey and published by University of Georgia Press. This book was released on 2012-03-01 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Paul Harvey uses four characters that are important symbols of religious expression in the American South to survey major themes of religion, race, and southern history. The figure of Moses helps us better understand how whites saw themselves as a chosen people in situations of suffering and war and how Africans and African Americans reworked certain stories in the Bible to suit their own purposes. By applying the figure of Jesus to the central concerns of life, Harvey argues, southern evangelicals were instrumental in turning him into an American figure. The ghostly presence of the Trickster, hovering at the edges of the sacred world, sheds light on the Euro-American and African American folk religions that existed alongside Christianity. Finally, Harvey explores twentieth-century renderings of the biblical story of Absalom in William Faulkner's Absalom, Absalom and in works from Toni Morrison and Edward P. Jones. Harvey uses not only biblical and religious sources but also draws on literature, mythology, and art. He ponders the troubling meaning of "religious freedom" for slaves and later for blacks in the segregated South. Through his cast of four central characters, Harvey reveals diverse facets of the southern religious experience, including conceptions of ambiguity, darkness, evil, and death.
Summary Book Review Empire in the New Testament by Stanley E. Porter:
Download or read book Empire in the New Testament written by Stanley E. Porter and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2011-01-01 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How does a Christian render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and unto God what is God's? This book is the result of the Bingham Colloquium of 2007 that brought scholars from across North America to examine the New Testament's response to the empires of God and Caesar. Two chapters lay the foundation for that response in the Old Testament's concept of empire, and six others address the response to the notion of empire, both human and divine, in the various authors of the New Testament. A final chapter investigates how the church fathers regarded the matter. The essays display various methods and positions; together, however, they offer a representative sample of the current state of study of the notion of empire in the New Testament.
