Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A follow-on to the highly successful Prayer for the Day Volume I, this second volume brings together 365 selected readings from the much-loved, long-running series on BBC Radio 4. The programme, which has been broadcast daily at 5:43am for several decades, and continues to attract over half a million dedicated listeners, comprises a short 2-minute reflection to start your day. These artfully combine traditional forms of prayer and reflection, from a variety of religions and denominations, with contemporary issues and themes that are often relevant to the date on which the programme is broadcast. In keeping with the theme of 'Prayer for the Day', there are 365 reflections in the book, from a vast range of the eminent religious figures and broadcasters who have contributed to the programme over the years. There will be a foreword by a prominent figure in the faith community, a short profile of each contributor and an index of contributors. To emphasise the point that the reflections can be used daily, they are ordered by date (i.e. 1st January, 2nd January etc), and each entry is selected on the basis of it being as date-specific as possible. The date of broadcast is underneath each entry, and dates are also marked at the top corners of each page so they can be found easily. The spacious design includes page openers for each month with simple line illustrations. Prayer for the Day Volume II is a beautiful and inspirational addition to any bedside table, with religious meditations that both participate in the ecumenical spirit of the 21st century and equip you perfectly for each day's journey.

He has a special purpose for your life. You may be at a point in your relationship with God that you feel you have messed up and completely ruined everything you had, or you may feel that you are simply unworthy. When we feel this way, God is right there waiting for us to ask for His help. We need to empty ourselves of all the negative things in our lives and allow Him to fill us up with His love. The great news is that God loves you and He always will! He's there in our darkest hour and He's there when we are rejoicing. He sees our needs and when we turn to Him, He is waiting with open arms to receive us. We can all rest assured that no matter how we mess up or how many times, we can always start fresh by saying, "OK, God, let's start from here."

This book was released on 2013-09-03 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In her first book, Susan Lee bridges the Law of Attraction with God's plan. Secular teachings of the law of attraction focus only on efforts from within and universe manifestation as the paths to financial freedom and a fulfilled life. God's Law of Attraction demonstrates that Christians too can have life purpose, goals, accomplishment; and yes, financial abundance—without guilt or materialism taking over. In God's Law of Attraction, Susan uses numerous Bible story themes to demonstrate God's genuine interest in providing a rich and fulfilling life for his children. Then, she applies how God's Law of Attraction works in our lives daily—whether we recognize its divine origins or not. Susan's interpretations of the stories result in a series of God-given steps that you can use every day to live your walk with God and enjoy life and its many gifts. Specifically, you will discover how to: Live in true abundance without guilt because God wants you to succeed! Find joy in your relationships again by releasing negative vibrations that have hurt in the past Use the Natural Law God Himself put in place to help us set goals and achieve them Trust in God on a new and exciting level Apply five steps: ask, believe, act, allow and receive to achieve God’s best! “Finally a book that recognizes the law of attraction as God's and provides real world guidance, as well as tools, to assist Christians in asking for and recognizing God's blessings.” — Carol Bills “Made me look at the law of attraction differently. I especially appreciated the tips and strategies for how to carry out the 5 steps (Ask, Believe, Act, Allow, Receive) effectively.” — Anonymous

Book excerpt: The question of where we come from and where we are going is one of the elementary challenges of life. Perhaps it is the question of life. Only when we get an answer to it do we learn who we are. So begins How the World Began, a book that asks themost fundamental of all questions: who are we? And what did God intend us to be? Despite - perhaps even because of - the immense technological advances of our time, and the frightful consequences for the human race of the misuse of that power, humanity is brought face-to-face time and again with the essential problem that has haunted us since the beginning of time: the mystery of good and evil. Helmut Thielicke's work in these sermons on the first eleven chapters of Genesis is thought-provokingand exceptionally powerful.

Download or read book What's Right with the Trinity? written by Dr Hannah Bacon and published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 2013-06-28 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The doctrine of the Trinity poses a series of problems for feminist theology. At a basic level, the androcentric nature of trinitarian language serves to promote the male as more fully in the image of God and as the archetype of humanity, pushing women to the margins of personhood. It is no surprise then that feminist scholarship on this doctrine has often focused on what's wrong with the Trinity, setting out the problems raised by the use of traditional androcentric trinitarian language. This book brings together a discussion of feminist theological methodology with a critical exploration of the doctrine of the Trinity. Focussing on what's right with the Trinity as opposed to what's wrong with the Trinity, it considers the usefulness of this doctrine for feminist theology today. It replaces a stress on trinitarian language with an emphasis on trinitarian thought, exploring how we might effectively think rather than speak God in light of feminist concerns. In particular, it asks how a trinitarian understanding of God might support, and be supported by, key values which underpin a feminist way of doing theology, specifically values which underpin the methodological use of women's experience in feminist theology. The central argument is that thinking God as Trinity need not serve to reinforce patriarchal values and ideals but may in fact promote the subjectivity and personhood of women.
